Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate of the myoelectrical activities of quadriceps femoris according to hip joint angle.

Materials & Methods: Twenty healthy men participated in this study. All tests were performed maximal voluntary isometric contraction(MVIC) of quadriceps femoris according to various hip angles. The myoelectrical activities of three knee extensors vastus lateralis, rectus femoris and vastus medialis doing isometric exercise were investigated using bipolar surface electrodes.

Results: The averaged iEMG of rectus femoris during 130¡Æat hip angle was the largest and was significantly different(p<0.05). The averaged iEMG of vastus lateralis and vastus medialis during 90¡Æat hip angle was the largest but was not significantly different(p>0.05).

Conclusion: The myoelectrical activities during maximal voluntary isometric contraction(MVIC) of quadriceps femoris was affected by rectus femoris and was not affected by vastus lateralis and vastus medialis. The maximal myoelectrical activities of quadriceps femoris occured at the 130¡Æangle in hip.
